Creature visiting Her Daddy at the hospital

It’s been scary – watching what has been happening – (Scary even fur the kat)- but especially fur the Creature, her Mom and Dad – and my humans.

Furiday the Creature’s Daddy dropped her off at school, but was having pain in his shoulder, neck and arm as he got ready to take her.

By the time he was on the way home from the school the pain had gotten worse and spread all the way down to his fingers, and he was clammy, and pale and sick – so he went to ER instead of home.

He called the human from the emergency room and asked her to stop by the hospital and find him to get his car keys so she could get the carseat fur the Creature and pick her up from school – because he didn’t think he’d be finished there in time to pick her up.

Well, the human (and everybody else) got a big surprise when she went to the hospital!

She approached the desk in ER and purrceeded to tell them why she was there – then the Security officer did some clicking on the computer and said “just a minute -” as he walked away.

A minute later, a nurse rounded the corner, and having no clue why the human was there, just asked who she was there fur. The human gave her his name, and before she could say anything else, the nurse hurriedly took her by the arm and led her into a quiet room where she said,

“Now, we don’t want you to panic, but he had a heart attack…and there are some changes in his heart – and you need to stay right here and the Doctor will come talk to you….”

What? But he couldn’t have! He’s so young, and healthy!

The next thing the human knew, the security guard reappeared to tell her the doctor wasn’t coming and he was sent to take her to the heart catheterization section (where he was at). But he “wasn’t there yet.”

Meanwhile, it’s getting closer to time to pick up the Creature, and the human can’t do it without a carseat-

And it fell to her to call the Creature’s Mom at work and let her know she needed to come home now. That went as expected – with Creature’s Mom immediately collapsing into tears and rushing to the hospital, barely able to talk enough to tell her boss she was leaving.

So that was the start of a very long and stressful weekend fur the humans – and a lot of confusion.

First they said it was a heart attack – but an angiogram ruled that out – yet in spite of that, something called triponon levels were up (why they said there were changes in the heart).

They moved on to more tests – leaving him painful, still short of breath, and almost immobile.

Tonight is his second night in the hospital as they try to figure out what’s going on.

The last thing they said was that it was Pericarditis – then they checked fur blood clots in his lungs – (cat scan)… And fur other equally confusing things – but still no news on the results of those tests.

Meanwhile, he is finally feeling a little better and breathing a little easier, and the Creature brought him some stuffed animals to take care of him…

Please continue your purrayers fur them – and fur the Creature – when the human had to tell her that Mommy wasn’t  home yet because her Daddy was in the hospital, she immediately burst into tears and it was very hard fur the human to calm her down and to assure her that her Daddy was okay.

All the humans love him dearly (dude – I love him too – he loves kats)!

They would all be devastated without him – and most of all the Creature. Tonight when they left the hospital, the humans say she begged her Daddy to come home with them. She needs her Daddy – home! 😿

  • Oh how scary for all of you including the Creature’s Dad who must be wondering why his young body has let him down! We hope and pray that whatever is causing the issue is something easily fixed and that he will in fact be out of the hospital and home ASAP. NOT KNOWING is way worse than KNOWING sometimes…..we hope you get information soon…….meanwhile, we send lots of hugs – hugs are good!

    Love, Sammy (and Mom Pam)

  • Glad he went to the A&E immediately and did not “carry on”! This was the weekend where the hospital does not have the full staff at hand – they might have an easier time diagnosing him when they are all returned from their weekend – and not only the weekend-cover is there.

  • Oh, my Precious Shrimpie!
That poor young man must have had his pain compounded by fear building in his mind, just *knowing* he was having a myocardial infarction (heart attack, Mommy gets too precise sometime and dread also making it worse! I think finding out that it wasn’t yet an MI is a huge relief! Mommy’s man had something similar, he looked, felt and displayed all the signs of having an MI, but it turned out to basically be a warning! He hadn’t been taking the meds his Doc prescribed for his hyper tension, nor the vitamins & supplements Mommy gave him to try to keep him healthy. He sure takes them now and has since his scare!
I know how your human’s family feels, and the anxiety of waiting for answers is horrible. But he is receiving the best of care and, best of all, the Creature WILL be getting her Daddy back soon!

Y’all shall remain in our prayers, because Mommy and I love you very much.
BTW, what country do you call “home”? You’re almost a complete day ahead of us, time wise, so I’m guessing maybe in the ‘Oceana’ area?

      • Oregon! I’m in Tucson, AZ., Same country as you!
You must be in a wrinkle in the space-time continuum, because all of your posts are about 24 hours ahead of us! Nice trick and maybe you can use it to get the Creature’s Daddy home soon!
Eagerly anticipating your next update regarding his condition! We are all just frabjous to hear he is improving. Our hearts go out to Little Miss Creature; she’s far too young to have to worry about losing her Daddy. Perhaps, though, if she learns to take care of her Papa, she will stay at home more doing that rather than coming over to bother you! Just poking that cloud trying to find that lining of silver!!
Love, licks and No. More. Fleas!

      • MOL 😸! Thank you sweetie!! (I love that “no more fleas”)!! 😹 Dude – I really needed a good laugh! It’s been so sad and tense around here that even the Flippin FLEAS ran fur cover!

Little Creature sent him the most heartbreaking voice text last night after she and her Mommy got home from the hospital… (I tried to add it to today’s post, but couldn’t do it)- she said “Daddy – are the doctors taking care of you? Don’t forget to brush your teeth and put your pajamas on, and Daddy -please, please, PLEASE don’t die!” 😿

  • Oh dear Shrimp, it is all very scary. That is what our Mommy does for a living so she knows how frightened families are when they come in. She says she is very happy it is not a blocked artery and they often see elevated troponins with pericarditis. We are all purring and praying hard for your boy bean!
